Good morning Mrs Smith, I saw that seal down at Bucklands Beach too! It sure was cute. I never knew they could dive that far!! I was also wondering about the seal and if it was ok. I rang D.O.C (the Department of Conservation) and asked if the seal was ok sitting on the sea wall. They said that it was fine and probably just taking a break while its Mother was hunting. They also said baby seals were often left by their Mothers for a couple of days before coming back. This was a way of the Mother teaching their young to be indepentent and feed for themselves. Imagine that! You sure would have to grow up fast!!

Good morning Mrs Smith. That must have been very exciting to see a seal at Bucklands Beach. I wonder how long it was there? Thank you for sharing your new learning about seals. It was very interesting. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Smith, I have seen fur seals a few times at Bucklands Beach. They must like hanging out there. Mr Smaill has seen Ocra Whales in the mouth of the river at Bucklands Beach too. They like eating the string rays that are there. They are a favourite treat for them!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Mrs Smaill
Kia ora Mrs Smith...woah stop scaring me by reminding us how far through 2020 we are!!! It is crazy that we are already at the end of August!! I took my children down to see the seal too but it had gone by then...boohoo! I was interested to read what Miss Robertson said...I don't think I could leave my children for a few days while I went to the supermarket!!!
ReplyDeleteYour jokes are funny Mrs Smith! The seal looked very cute. It looked like it was having a nice rest. You learned a lot of facts about seals! Super learning!
